That's AL for aluminum. The ancient Greeks used Aluminum as an astringent and as a mordant in dyeing. Aluminum is the most abundant metal in the Earth's crust, and the third most abundant element therein, after oxygen and silicon. Aluminum is a soft, durable, lightweight, malleable metal with appearance ranging from silvery to dull gray, depending on the surface roughness. Aluminum is non toxic, non magnetic, and non sparking. It is also insoluble in alcohol, though it can be soluble in water in certain forms.

These are some of the properties that make Aluminum the perfect choice for the artists at Oracle Audio Technologies. By the way - Aluminium was also the accepted spelling in the U.S. until 1925, at which time the American Chemical Society officially decided to use the name Aluminum.

So what does it take to make an Oracle Audio Delphi MKV turntable?Oracle Delphi MKV

Just mix 1 ounce of Aluminum with 2 ounces of unobtainiumin, place in a small hole about three inches deep, water with love and wait for music.  We wish it were so easy.

Aluminum is purchased periodically by the ton.  From there, the aluminum is sculpted into shapes on customized CNC devices.  It takes anywhere for 25-30 hours to cut all the parts for one turntable. After the cutting, each piece is hand brushed.  Brushing also takes approximately 8 hours per turntable.  From brush and quality control, the parts are painted and checked for consistency and finish.  The painting process adds another 5 hours per turntable.  Lastly, the turntable needs to be assembled, circuitry installed then the power supply needs to be built which takes another 12 hours or so. Finally, each turntable is set up on a rack and a series of tests are done on each device.

This time consuming project and attention to detail is what ensures that you get the best musical instrument available, every time!
The Media
Keep your eyes open for upcoming issues of Stereophile - Oracle Audio is placing a new set of advertisements. Also, the Oracle Audio Delphi MKV (with Oracle SME arm and Thalia cartridge) will be sent to Michael Fremer at Stereophile. Currently in review is another Oracle Audio SI 1000 integrated amplifier at Dagogo.com. This should be done within 60 days.

Any shows or reviewd coming up in your area?
Aluminum is cheaper than gas

Maybe we can figure out a way to run our cars on liquid aluminum.  What would the by products be - Aluminum pellets?  We simply need a kettle that heats the aluminum up to 660 degrees Centigrade to drive a turbine - how hard can that be?

I'm rambling again.  Anyway the important message is that Oracle Audio is very busy now and has a very busy summer schedule as well.  We thank you for your continued business and look forward to working with you in the future as well.

As always, is there any thing I or Oracle Audio can do for you?

May this year be warm, bright, safe, prosperous and analog.
